Considering they take zero room in a bag, I'm thinking about trying some of these.  Downside is they're $2 a pop and take 3-4 hours to make ~12oz of gatorade ish water, but could be an interesting 'oh shit' thing.  They're made by Fluid Technologies/OTS and are a forward osmosis filtering setup that (depending on model) can be used in fresh, brackish, or saltwater.

Thoughts?  Yeah, a real filter will always be better than a one time solution, but if the idea is sound a couple wouldn't be bad to throw in an 'oh shit' bag.

Interesting. If they're not too heavy or bulky (don't look like it), it would be a prudent little bit of insurance if operating around brackish waters. 330ml isn't a lot, but a couple of those could help you get out of a bad water area into fresher water for your regular water filter and/or treatment system.
