What are you all able to do about deer eating your gardens?  They ate every one of my bean and cucumber plants.  I don't want to put up a fence that high.  Any other methods out there that work even partially?

gather up a bag of random hair next time you're at the barber.  spread it around the outside of your gardens.  my grandfather always taught me the scent of humans helped keep them away. either way best of luck.  gardening is a labor of love.  one that is truly wonderful when you get to eat the fruits of your labor.  cheers

Deer and hogs are a problem here.

I run a 3 wire solar electric LOW fence for rabbits, armadillos etc.  My dog actively ranges in an area that includes the house, garden, chicken house, apiary and orchard.  The deer and hogs apparently avoid the area where she is active. Coyotes and fox not so much but they are after yard birds  -- not gardens.

During the summer months, a fence works for me, and during the winter months, something of the 190 grain and 30 caliber variety going about a thousand feet per second....
