I have a "Water-maker" intended for lifeboat use.  With a pre-filter, should serve in most "brackish" water as well as sea water.

These "Water-maker" devices are Expensive, and require periodic maintenance.

I've also seen vids on YouTube concerning non-insulated metal bottles being used as "stills", with some add-ons/mods.  Currently making one.

Here in coastal RI, being able to make useable, potable water, on demand, might be Essential.

More than one way to skin this cat.
