Just invested a decent amount of money in plants for my front planter. Currently watering with the hose but when I rerouted sprinklers I left a riser in the middle to add direct watering to the plants.
Where do I want bubblers., misters or drip? We planted lilies, salvia, lavender and delphiniums.
Same goes for my garden. We have two 6'x4' garden boxes with tomatoes and peppers. Drip or misters? I have a sprinkler head I can tap into between the boxes so I could put them on the sprinkler timer.

IMO, always drip, if you can manage it.
However, be aware that your lawn's watering is not necessarily right for your planters. You may still have to water some, because those planters should get watered deeply, til water runs out the bottom, then NOT watered again until they need it.
Lilies (if they are actual lilies) are bulb plants, and will rot if kept wet. Lavender will die if kept too moist, also. Depending on the type, the salvia can need a lot more frequent watering, and the delphiniums are kind of middle-of-the-road, but also don't need to be wet all the time.
In the most successful gardens, the landscaped areas are on a separate (or more than one separate) zone/zones so those plantings can get the amount, and best timing, they need for watering.
FYI, most people water their lawns too often and too shallowly, too. Just sayin.
