Been trying to pick more stuff up and supplies, I just have this horrible vision in my head of some bad, dystopian society under the current regime. Or a Venezuela style disaster.
I pray that such never happens, but with the way things have been going, who knows. I have visions in my head of shortages and people standing in long lines for little at all. I think of that video out there of a Soviet style grocery store in Russia and the misery.

My fiance is Venezuelan. She was a lawyer there 6 years ago. She moved here (legally, mind you) and spent about 4 years working in an Amazon warehouse and now works in a call center, just keeping her head down, working hard, and trying to earn her citizenship. This spring, she's eligible to apply. She's seen it first hand. It's worse than most imagine. She's inspired me to take my "paranoia" and focus it. Regardless of what happens in this country, there is no bad thing about food storage or preparedness.
If life goes on as usual, fantastic.
In the meantime, I'll not have her or my family go hungry, even if only for a few weeks due to natural or man-made disasters.
