Ok, it took a bit longer. I had to go through the whole list and was checking each callsign on QRZ for a possible Arfcom symbol. I had to guess several times.

I probably missed several member's check-ins. Sorry if this happened. Please PM me or post a reply and I'll gladly include you into the list.

One station from Colorado, gave me a screen name: Glock-something. Please PM me with your info.
Station from Colorado Springs, I must have written your scree name wrong. Let me know the correct name.

Thank you all who participated! The pileup was a bit unexpected. It usually happens when propagation opens into Europe/Asia. They just kept calling, even after I stated that it was - ARFCOM net.
I hope we all learned valuable lessons and had fun.

Lets try again. I'll try to correct my mistakes and will definitely ask for screen names, even if it takes longer to check in.

As was proposed earlier, an many agreed, our next net is today, Tuesday 3/24/20 at 20:00 ET on 40m.

Net TODAY, Tuesday, March 24th, at 8:00 PM ET.

Primary Frequency:      7.213 Mhz

Secondary Frequency:  7.285 Mhz, +/- QRM

+/- QRM means that we may be slightly above or below the scheduled frequency if the frequency is already in use or there is a QRM on it. Usually it takes at least 3 kHz to move away from a station's bandwidth. So, check at least 3-10 Khz above and 3-10 kHz below the frequency. I will update the frequency here if needed but please, get used to searching near the scheduled frequency. It's a very important skill for emergency communications.

Only 14 arfhams out of 79 check-in's. So clearly it was mostly some excitable random folk that got a little crazy on a contest Saturday night.

That is much more like I thought it would be based on previous attempts like this. 14 arfhams is about as big a group as you will ever get. First, there's not that many of us. Second, even fewer who are really active. And third, very, very few who have setups that can reliably make the net.

It will be interesting to see what this evening brings. I am 50/50 on making the net. The day is already shot with probably about 4 hours of snow removal to do right away

I can imagine on a contest weekend, guys who don't contest tuning around, wanting to play radio, and hearing a net with check-ins.

They check in.

His means of checking via QRZ isn't going to net a ton.  Heck, my page is still blank so I wouldn't show on the list (I wasn't on that net but should be tonight).
At this point in time, are you of the opinion that nothing that's come out about Andy or his wife should be looked into in regards to conflict of interest, or, regarding his wife, quid pro quo shenanigans?

Ok, dumb newbie question time:

When you talk primary / secondary frequencies, do you mean the secondary is used in case the primary is already taken?  Or are we doing split?

Guys, this time I'll make sure to get all screen names, unless you don't want to give it out. Just say - "No screen name". It's no problem.
We will try to come back to each station at least once. It'll be nice to get a situation report from each area but feel free to share anything you want.

Question:  Should I explain over the air what Arfcom is and where to find us?

IDK, I could see it attracting unwanted attention.  Especially if we're giving screen names.  OTOH it's not like being a Ham is exactly incognito.

I occasionally check in to the ERPN USA net, they're of a similar mind as people here for the most part.  Last night some douche kept trying to interfere with the net, calling everyone Nazis, talking over people, etc.  Eventually he went away after everyone just ignored him.  I shouldn't be, but I'm still amazed at how hateful leftists can be.

If you do, this forum could fill up with a lot of new people.  That by itself is not a bad thing, but it does have great potential to  turn this good forum, into a QRZ type of forum.
