At this point in time, are you of the opinion that nothing that's come out about Andy or his wife should be looked into in regards to conflict of interest, or, regarding his wife, quid pro quo shenanigans?

0021 checked in via relay, this is my first time checking in, good turnout! I still can't copy the net control's call and they never figured out that I am an ARFCOM regular. but I am reminded why I very much prefer CW. .- .- ....- --.- |

Working Netlogger second hand was a bitch. It's a mess and the finest collection of busted calls, missed names and Qths I have ever seen and I have seen some World Class fuckups in my day but this takes the cake. If I were net control I'm sure it would have had things a lot more accurately. I would have had the luxury of getting people to repeat calls etc. I did NOT want to bug Gyprat because he already had his hands full. I did what I could with an S-9 noise floor digging out as much info as I could. Gyprat and I are both pencil and paper guys when running nets but I can see this is a pretty useful tool for running a net. Maybe I'll try and run a net sometime and use it. With the luxury of actually running the net and being able to stop the music for a few seconds here and there I do believe I can get some accuracy out of it. I tried it out the other day and everyone asked me what the rumor was. "The checks come out on the 8th." Someone wanted to know if I was taking about the gubmint checks and I told him that Larry's Plumbing in Milwalkee pays monthly on the 8th. He sounded confused but what do you expect on a net named Rumor Control? |

A couple of guys did a good job of relaying. Relay counts as a check in but hot as a QSO with net control. Relaying is VERY important for disseminating information. If you hear the pileup but not net control don't be bashful about keying your mic and shouting ''Relay!" If you hear the shout tell him to stand by and get net control and then relay his information to net control. I am thinking of having anothe ECOMM drill and if I do it won't last six minutes like most of them do. I PROMISE it will be a delightful totally successful chaotic goatfuck and we'll ALL learn something from it. I just opened a 1.75 of Jameson's to help me think this out. Hmmm....I think I'll run net control with 30 watts and a wire in a tree and make you bastards WORK for it  |

That was painful.... After nearly an hour barely hearing nc, I thought I figured out his name is "A***" in SC, finally copied the call _3?__. is it a 1x2 call or did I miss one letter? (_3__ is A*[similar name], also in SC, close) so I tried stepping thru the alphabet on QRZ.com to figure out the missing letter.... I finally got to [a certain letter] and found "A***" in SC, with a bunch of cool pics on the QRZ page, including one with a boltface logo on the vehicle, that convinced me I finally figured out the call! (which someone posted a coupla posts above, then deleted, so I have too) out here in AZ I have high noise and lots of weak signals. but since I'm working from home on tuesdays and don't have our usual Tuesday Night Bullseye Pistol match, if I remember, I can try to check in. I told him I figured one pileup was as good as another and he started laughing like hell. And that is how I got Kuwait in my logbook. FWIW He sent me a QSL card that arrived practically overnight before I sent for his! Sometimes the best part of this hobby is when things get all FUBAR. |

Big difference here in AZ when he's pointing west vs North.  S8 vs S5. Readable either way though. Pretty consistent week to week. If we both weren't running power it'd be tough! Next week I'll see if I can relay some, while monitoring one of the online SDR's.Thanks Gyprat. |

It can easily be replaced with a pencil and paper. It's a simple convenience that serves a purpose. I often use it to see what nets are on the air. STRICTLY for convenience. |
