We are trying a different format. I'm on the frequency but another station (Chris) is being a net control station duty today. It's a great chance to practice being a NCS.
What do you guys think? |

I like it. We shouldn't be overly reliant or burdensome on one person. You do an outstanding job but you do have a life Gyprat.
GrDr you're doing a great job, a little QRN to work through but you're doing it well and the relays are spot on, I pick up the mic and someone else is on it. |

If we develop a comfort in fill ins then we all win. Better operators with more confidence, expanded skills, even if it needs more relays to get the check in list, that is good practice too! I know I was not sure about jumping in. I got a big mouth. Running a net was another first time thing. It wasn't too bad, a bit of work juggling notes, looking at the radio to observe a meter signal report. Apprehension about will my radio get the job done. I got a great condition night to pull duty. |

I wanted to try to check in tonight, but I forgot, and in my time zone it starts at 5:00, and I was still working. Didn't think about it until just now.
I might set an alarm for next week. |

You were about a 56 on my end but sometimes fading down close to the noise. It was interesting to have propagation be such that I had to be relayed in, especially when just prior to the net I had a QSO with a guy in Wales who said I was coming in at +20 over there. Thanks Gyprat, for relaying me in. Swapping around different people to be NC is a fun idea. I would try it some day, but not until after I get an amp so I can be more consistently heard. |

You were talking last night about mobile HF stations....weeks ago I had a POTA contact with a fellow in Great Britain on his bicycle mobile station. I assumed he stops and sets up an antenna but I didn’t ask. |

The guy on the bike had a short base loaded vertical on his bike and the pedestrian was pulling a a cart with everything mounted to it |

I can hear net control, but it is fading in and out. At best about a 5x3 but seems to be improving.
I tried a few times but QRP isn't making the trip right now. |

Can faintly hear net control, but can't make out the conversation. Good opportunity for me to mess with trying to tune in a signal on this new rig though.

LZP, I wasn't able to copy you at all tonight, which is odd. |
