OK, so ar-jedi's "Can't Fail" thread got me thinking about a roster. I know a couple of others have expressed an interest and
maybe if there is enough interest we can get it "tacked". Let's just keep it simple. No extraneous chat in this thread, basically an ongoing list of Amateur Radio licensed members. You may give whatever info you deem appropriate, and due to OPSEC you don't have to list your FCC callsign. I think at a minimum we could just list our original license date. You could list other things such as license class, current radio equipment, etc. You may come back and EDIT your original post as you think necessary. Remember, this would not be a "chat" or "comment" thread, but a roster tied to your screen name. Please no responses to anyone's post. I'll start it off with the first entry. EDIT: A COMMENT THREAD IS HERE: Link To Comment Thread |

Passed General October 1992, license arrived January 1993
Upgraded to Advanced February 1993 Upgraded to Extra in 2000. Radios: way, way too many (need to work on that) Mobile Antennas: about 20 for every vehicle I own. Far beyond any sense of reason... in fairness, many of them I got cheap or free, and wecsoar'd together from parts. Base Antennas: not nearly enough (in the air) (REALLY need to work on that) |

Licensed late in 1984, currently have the general license. I am thinking about studying for the Exra but those questions scare the crap out of me.
Currently have a Yaesu FT-857D in the Jeep with an Outbacker HF antenna. I have a Yaesu FT-897D in the house for VHF/UHF SSB and as an HF backup to the primary radios which are a Yaesu FT-950 on digital HF and SSB and an IC-756Pro-II. I have a Yaesu FT-8800 dedicated to VHF/UHF FM and IRLP. Also in there, in a go-box is an SGC-2020 with an LDG tuner attached to it and at least 4- 55AH large 12V marine batteries, in two boxes to to take and go. Solar panels and controllers for all. I have an ATV that has VHF/UHF comms on it as well, and a few other portable HF and VHF/UHF antennas systems for running away into the woods. Add in a VX-6 and a VX-7 and that's it. Antennas are all wire and way up off the ground, and can hardly be seen from the street. |
