I’m no carpenter, so don’t judge the stairs too harshly.  I also need to put more rails on the bottom stairs and platform.  Anyway, this is my latest deer blind build.  It’s 6’x8’ and sits on 10’ legs.  I built it in pieces and hauled it out to the lane in two trips.

Why did you build that upside down?
But seriously that's a nice stand!
How much money did that run you?
I'm looking to build a similar one and trying to wrap my head around the lumber prices...

So, the upside down is camouflage?

Looks big enough to live in. Nice.

Looks great.  Stairs are a bit odd.

How stable is that?  how high off ground?

I build 4x4 stands 16' tall using telephone poles.   But since covid telephone poles have dried up.  Need to build a few possibly using 4x4.

Stairs are a lot odd.  Long story but it mostly boils down to my ineptitude.  They are sturdy though.   The whole blind is very sturdy.    The base sits on 10’ legs.

Looks great.  Next time build the steps on the high side of the hill.

I’ve been hunting for over 40 years. I’ve never hunted upside down. Gotta try that.

Thanks.  I prebuilt most of this one before picking the actual spot to put it.  Definitely messed up a few things and what you see is that plus the mods to fix the issues.

The wall covering?  Is that material?  Or plastic sheeting?

Prebuilt the walls and roof at home.  Hauled them out on a trailer.  Walked the walls up the stairs.  And assembled there.

That is interesting.

I just use old pieces of plywood and then paint them green.

That’s how I built my other one.  Deer don’t give a crap about the camo panels but I thought I’d try them.

Very nice way to be out of the elements.  Best of luck filling them tags.

With the price of lumber, and your time, why didn't you buy a redneck? Scent proof, weatherproof, huge warranty,  easy to relocate,  and probably  cheaper.

Blinds of that size from those mfg's are over $2k.

I just built 2- 4x6 on 10ft leg's for $500 a piece.

View from the blind a couple nights ago.  We were NOT hunting.  Just doing some work at the property and sat in the blind with some beers for a while.
