***Edit: Scroll down thread for future date updates.*** Missouri APC will be camping/hiking this weekend. Central Missouri, Ozarks Region If you would like to help make some field comms; I am setting up the following comms windows; Refer to Arfcom standard emcomm frequencies. 6pm CST / 7pm EST / 0000 Zulu 40m SSB 7pm CST 0100 Zulu 80m SSB If i get down there and setup earlier, I might add some 10m/20m. If I am feeling froggy, I might take the laptop down and try to hop on Olivia if anyone is game. More details to follow. Dave |

Or possibly different scenarios once a month and regular nets in between |

Depending on conditions I may use one of my portable antennas, as I did this last week. It’s good practice. |

Quoted: Listening Thanks for the contact and the reminder on the Missouri 80m net i was able to jump on. I barely got the antenna up by 5pm, so i was a tad rushed. We still had to setup tents and start a fire. It was about 20 degrees out. There was basically no cell coverage. I had to try to post here multiple times to get the couple updates i got out, and then the cold killed my battery. Attached File |

Fyi for people who bought the NAPA battery box there was a thread about; dont trust the handle on it. It will pop out. This setup and the cables I made for it will be moved to shack battery backup. I ordered a Bioenno battery, charger and some power powerpole connectors from giga parts this morning to build a dedicated portable use setup. |

I put a Weize 100Ah battery in one of mine and it's quite heavy with that. |

Missouri APC will be conducting a February event. (Details in MO HTF for people interested) Some of us will be arriving mid-day Friday the 24th and it will go through Saturday the 25th. Sat is the hike/firearms range. We will be providing some basic radio familiarity training at the event, including a free VHF MFJ roll up slim jim antenna give away raffle. My goal; I will be putting together a comms window schedule for the evening of Friday the 24th. I will update this thread closer to the date with times and frequencies. Cell service is real sketchy there, so I am going to attempt to make a plan in case we cant update HTF/APC/Ham threads. |
