From the photos from the CC website, its an old school style freefloat tube, which means the barrel nut is either integral, or at best, unique to the rail system. |

I dont even know when it will see general release. when I got the MARC it had the usual writers demo invoice with it, and it said . "T&E for 901 MARC launch" thats about all the extra info I got about it i would guess probably not though |

RSR has 19 CTLE901-16SE's LE901-16SE's in-stock. No mention if the rail sections are included or not. I'll probably be ordering one in the next couple of weeks.
They are also showing as forthcoming "New Items" 1) the 16" model in FDE and 2) an 18" model in black. Note: Edited above part # to reflect Colt's part # rather than RSR's. |

| Are there any plans to release the ambi mag release as an individual part? I really like the idea of a more economical 901 but the ambi controls are a big part of the draw and it looks like a few of the new ones don't have it. Doesn't look like any of the aftermarket ambi releases will fit either. |

The AR901 in the picture doesn't have the ambi release but the specs list ambi controls. I looked at the specs a while back when I noticed the left side mag release was absent.
ETA: just looked again and its listed for the other two but not the AR901. Base description lists ambi controls as 901 feature. Curious. |

It appears the AR901 is considerably cheaper so you would assume it does not come with the same features as the other models. One would consider the AR901 due to the price however if you add up installing those same missing features you'd be better served with a different model.

for everyone asking about the 901 with the FF tube and if it can be changed.
it can not. it is proprietary they cut off a regular 901 upper and threaded for that FF tube with a counter nut to accept it so if you are thinking you can get the cheaper model and put whatever rail you want on it. not gonna happen |

So, the AR901-S. I have some questions. I understand that its a normal upper, FF tube. No sights. B5 stock. The lower seems the same as the other 901s.
Are they still made with the same BBL, BCG etc? Its $500 cheaper than the LE-901SE. I just want to know if its the same quality, but cheaper since the FF guard and normal upper are super cheap to make compared to any type of Monolithic platform. Does anyone have a AR901-S? How do you like it? |

Here is my post on my experience with it so far. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_29/260941_AR901_16S__little_things_I_am_learning_about_it_along_the_way_.html In terms of accuracy I think it is the most accurate rifle I have shot. I don't have any bolt guns or precision rifles. The free float tube is a little annoying to get lined up because what looks straight thru the holes isn't necessarily so when you add a sight to it. The attachment appears to be like the mlok with their Tnut. It is also a major pain in the ass if you undo it too far and lose the nut. You also have to make sure it properly turns. This may be partly due to the circle hand guard nature. It also doesn't lock into a specified position like the mlok. The charging handle is longer and harder to pull. Hopefully an adjustable gas block will make this gun get along with my suppressor. I had considered a heavy buffer but I'd have to get a whole new one. This runs a 2.5" and it appears to have both weights as tungsten. I believe it was around to 5.0oz mark... |

I've been looking around at the LE901-16S and it looks like it is shipping with two different rear sights - a Troy and another style (Matech??).
Any knowledge/experience with this? I found the LE901-16S for around $1600 with the adapter kit and it's tempting... very tempting... |
