Noticed there were a couple threads back in the day about installing the M249 Savit stock onto a Shrike using a mil-spec tube, specifically a Bravo Company mil-spec tube according to the one person who had made the combo work.
Tried today with my Bravo Company mil-spec buffer tube and a brand new in box, unissued M249 Savit stock from a surplus shop. Owner was kind enough to let me try to install it cause he figured no one would buy the stock anyway here in Hawaii.
Well it doesn't fit with the Bravo Company mil-spec buffer tube. Measured the the Bravo Company tube and the M249 hydraulic tube. Included a photo of my receipt from Bravo Company that I indeed purchased a mil-spec buffer.
M249 stock would just barely accept the Bravo Company mil-spec tube and required a rubber mallet to remove. In spite what the forum member said saying a the M249 Savit will fit only on a Bravo Company mil-spec buffer, IT WON'T. Some sort of modification is required, like opening up the Savit by removing just enough material. Not a drop in install.
