Greetings. I have only ever worked with mil-spec platforms, mainly Colt. Until now, I’ve never owned or been interested in a boutique rifle. I am curious about what owners think of their Geissele rifles and components. I am less concerned about cost than I am about quality. How are the uppers and lowers including the quality of the forging/finishing, fit, and anodizing? Since this may be my first foray into assembling something myself, I am also curious about the quality and fit of Geissele components. I know about their triggers and barrels, and am more interested in their other upper and lower receiver components, specifically the Ultra Duty parts. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

My only experience has bee with their rails, regardless, what I've seen and handled has been top-of-the-line.

Triggers and rails are all I have experience with. Their triggers are dang good. The Mk4/8 is in my opinion the best AR15 rail made yet.

I've got receiver sets, rails, barrels, gas blocks, REBCG's, triggers, ACH's, buffer tubes, Super 42 springs/buffers, and now a maritime bolt catch (no other small parts in lower). All have fantastic fit and finish, to include the blem items.

The SSA trigger is freaking amazing.
Get one. Thank me later. |

I’ve got complete carbines, complete uppers, triggers, optic mount, and charging handles from them and everything is top notch. Only thing to note is that if mis-matched anodizing is a deal breaker then you just might have an issue with their stuff.

I’ve been shooting, training, taking classes and competition for 30 years
I carry a rifle for work routinely (plainclothes LE) Started with Colt, Bushmaster (when they were good) and Rock River Over the years I’ve had most of the top brands and put thousands upon thousands of rounds on the good gear Geissele stands out as excellent quality. I started with their triggers and still use them. Buy with confidence. These are my main two training guns. Attached File |

I started out with colt myself, with uncle sam's misguided children. Now I build rifles with Geiselle components. I have rails, triggers, other lower parts, scope mounts, BCG's, buffers and springs, and switching to bbls as soon as possible. Haven't used upper and lowers yet because I wanted gov't marked M4A1's for "Mk18" builds. I tracked Geiselle for a long time before I pulled the trigger. I think the quality, durability, and accuracy are there. Regardless of what fanboys or detractors say, I buy Geiselle simply because they work, period.

I own 3 of them and just scored an URGI clone on Black Friday ($930.00!) that came with the sexiest anodizing I've ever seen! It doesn't color match the G lower or any Tan/FDE optics and accessories I have but it's a Geissele and that's all I need. Buy a Super Duty and live it up! Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Figured since I started it, keeping tabs would make sense. I am grateful to everyone here for their feedback and suggestions. With the reading I've done, here and elsewhere, I have begun the journey of collecting the G parts I need to complete the project, and have already assembled quite a few things. It's been fun. Independent of performance, I absolutely noticed the fit and finish of the upper and lower. Quite a bit different than what I had previously been used to with Colt. Since getting FDE anodized Colt receivers is nearly impossible, I went with DDC G components. It's like the difference between a G-Shock and an Omega Seamaster.

I think they make the best stuff on the market. Not just in terms of quality & durability, but especially in performance, plus they look incredible. They’ve also been proven by our special operations in theatre. The uppers and rifles are also exceptionally accurate. They have a CS department. Buy with absolute confidence, you’ll love it.

Bill Geissele replaced the rifle for him anyways, for free. |

View Quote My long range G is Luna Black. ODG is a pretty universal color of theirs which I like. Though I love the unique color of the URGI I just received more than any other DDC/Tan it's so far off their lower and no where near the same as all the DDC/FDE/Tan accessories I have for it. If only I could have Bill and his anodizing Team mirror the URGI I'd pay them double to match it! Attached File |
