Todays results were much-gooder!
498 yards. 1st 20 rounds unsuppressed no issues. Ejection pattern same as unsuppressed 1-2 o'clock. 2nd 20 rounds suppressed-swapped to a Slash heavy buffer and spring-1 FTF on the 2nd round. Rounds 40-80 suppressed no issues-semi fast firing. A couple case rims were bent from the extractor, no biggie. Time to swap to .260! |

Some real world data at 1425 yards between the 260, 6.5CM and 6.4x47, in order 12.7 Mils, 13.1 Mils and 14.0 Mils to hit the same target. Both the 260 & 6.5CM were shooting Prime Ammo the x47 hand loads

Haven't been able to shoot the .260 due to being on vacation last week and then in training this week. Hoping to remedy that this weekend.
In the meantime, if you guys are looking for some bathroom reading material, I highly recommend you check out "Practical Shooters Guide" by Marcus Blanchard. Probably the best $20 you'll spend on Amazon. He's a legit PRS shooter and writes in an easy-to-read style. There are even some pictures for you Marines to look at. Lots of great info and material on positional shooting. |

My 6.5G Ultimate Kit hasn't shipped yet, so at least I won't have the new Grendel competing for my time.
Shooting buddy #1 and I were going to make a road trip to Accuracy 1st, but we procrastinated on the decision and now the classes are full, so we may have to wait until the post October class list is announced, and anyways, who wants to shoot in Texas in the summer?

I sent Todd Hodnett a note about future classes or an out-of-cycle class if we have enough confirmed attendees.
If you're considering a class, know that it will be LR2 at $350 a day for a total of $700 for the class for the weekend. You would need to get yourself to the Austin, TX area at your expense as well as plan for lodging, food and travel. There are also costs to get your weapon and ammo there so the final cost could be in the $2K range. I'll let you know when Todd responds and let's not forget a certain person in Leander may have an inside track if we need to involve "The Man."

Accuracy 1st initial reply - booked but can do a private class. November 18-19 or the last week of November (2-or 3-day class) is available.
Class is $350 a day per person. So, a 2-day class is $700 and a 3-day would be $1050. MINIMUM class size is 7 people @ $350 daily, or $2450 a day if you don't have the minimum 7 people. So, if we only have 5 people, the cost per person would rise to $490 a day. Let me know: 1. If the 18-19th is best or the last week in November (sometime in the week of 27 Nov - 1 Dec). Considering travel time, both work for me but the weekday classes would be better. For example, fly to Texas on Monday the 27th, attend classes Tuesday and Wednesday, fly home Thursday. 2. Prefer a two day but I could swing a three day. Weekend > weekday but if we end up doing it the week after Thanksgiving I'd rather it be the Mon/Tue/Wed so I can butt it up to my long week.
Basically I'm flexible.....but you know my preferences. ETA: Don't think if we go 3-day during the week that I'm out. That is just preference. |
