That is *very* cool!

These should be standard on every one of those things.
I already have a 5.56 bolt action at the FFL for pickup, but now I want one of these |

Font sight appears to be tall enough to use with suppressor? Can anyone confirm?
|
|
|
I would say yes. Looks like lots of cans are around 1.5".
The tip of the front sight post is at 1.388" from centerline of the bore as shown with my zero. That times 2 equals 2.776 So the can would have to be well over 2.00" in diameter to obscure your sight picture. |

Very cool! In your experience/testing, how well does the front sight hold up to field use? Is there any way to get it permanently affixed?
Thanks! |

As manufactured there are 3 attachment points.
The 10/32 clamping screw and two 10/32 set screws the come down from the top. When all three are tightened down properly you would probably bend one of the ears before the sight would rotate. You should also gently tap the base back onto the barrel's taper when installing it. This will act as a wedge. However, there are several ways to make it "more" secure. 1. coat the inside of the sight base with red loctite or epoxy 2. dimple the top of the barrel for the set screws like an AR gas block 3. drill and cross pin the base to the barrel once you have gotten your FSB timed and sights zeroed |

That's REALLY cool.
This question is going to sound goofy, but hear me out... Will any of the common MRDS on the market cowitness with these? |

My set arrived yesterday, installed today. Love it.
Waiting somewhat patiently for the 300 Blackout front....OD measures .732". If there is any taper - it is in the tenths, I'd call it straight approximately 1 3/8" (my muzzle device overhangs back over the thread shoulder a bit). |

I'm tempted to get a 350 Legend. There is a ton of ammo local to me at a LGS, and the price is reasonable compared to 5.56 (seriously wtf lol)
I'm keeping these sights in mind if I get one. Looks like a really handy/lightweight Thumper. |

Interested for .300 BO.

This is the problem with trying to make a "no gunsmithing" front sight.
The barrel OD's are all over the place. |

Will these fit on a American Compact in 308?
|
|
|
The rear unit will only fit the short actions.
The front sight is dependent on the barrel diameter. The NDS-56 is for a barrel taper that measures between .675"-.687". It may go on a different barrel, but not be in the preferred location. A good gunsmith could cut/turn a barrel to fit in a half hour. |

Any idea when a .300Blk version will be released?

We've got the CNC's tied up with retro stuff right now.
Probably won't get on the new front sight until March sometime. |

Are you eventually going to release this for the .308/ 6.5 Creedmore rifles? Eventually means in a year or two. It'll probably be that long before l pick one up unless l run across something with a "buy-me-now!" price. |

If we did it would be a ways off for sure.
The long action will require a new rear unit. The front sights might work, but it's dependent on barrel diameter. |

Thanks Mike. Like l said eventually.
I'll be retiring in about 3 years to a state that very definitely isn't black rifle friendly but hunting is still okay. I have several .30-06s but want a compact. 308 especially if l can get open sights. Your product is perfect, if only... Definitely put me down for a set in 2 or 3 years though. |

Sorry if this has been covered, but do you have a rail mounted rear that would work with your front and mount to the factory rail?
|
|
|
We do not. The UTG low peep might work but I don't know the height of it.

On the 5.56 gun the top of the front sight post was 1.394" from centerline of the bore to get a 2" high zero at 100 yards.
The 7.62x39 was similar. If you use something else you will need the aperture to be in that ball park to work. Although our front sight has a huge range of adjustment. I have a new webpage up for these products. https://www.nodakspud.com/Ranch%20Sights.htm |

Oh boy!!!!!!
I have the 556 and 7.62 models! |

|
Any idea if these will fit the American Rimfire (both front and rear)? I'd like to get something identical to these for a few youth rifles.
If not, what needs to happen to make that a reality?? |
|
|
They will not fit the rimfire.
But Tech Sights does make a decent set for that rifle. |

I do like the tech sights on my 10/22, however the American Rimfire I'm looking at does not have a front sight (mdl 8334). Looks like the barrel diameter is .72" (from online reports). Will this work with NDS-59 front sight?
|
|
|
Maybe, the problems are height of the rear, and barrel diameter.
You may have to shim the front to get a good fit far enough forward. Of course you could slide it back against the taper but that might look awkward. |
