Over the years I often ordered from RTB.
Maybe not in recent years... as my shooting hobby had slowed...
I especially liked their triggers which are now in almost all my ARs and told many friends both on and off forums about them.
Last nite I put together a nice big order of assorted AR parts.
Lots of small parts I been meaning to pick up,... nearly 500 bucks.. with shipping slightly over 500.
Spent hours putting together over 40 parts balancing cost vs what I felt I needed.
I try to order to and i get a message
* Gateway Response: This transaction has been declined.
* There was an error response communicating to the payment gateway server. Please try again in a few moments.
So I figure ok, no biggie I will just try again later....
I keep trying and it still will decline.. I check my Credit card and they never even attempted to charge the card!
Then it dawns on me... I am currently on international travel for work and I know a lot of ordering systems dont like that and when they dont often they will not tell u that you triggered an alert but will shadow decline you with weasel words so u dont get upset.
But my card is US and the shipment address is US as well (some buds who hold my stash while I travel, all properly written with my name then c/o and their name).
It says on their website to just contact them if there are any problems.
I send them an email where I ask for a mechanism to fix and declare to still want to do my order that I suspect it was IP triggered etc etc.
No response..... so I figure I will take them at their word and try again.. and voila... my account has been cancelled !!!!!
Without even a reply to my email!!
I like to support smaller businesses so instead of just going elsewhere I emailed them again and/or hope they monitor this.
I am not going to wait until I am back in the US with ordering and I will not lower myself to reregister with a VPN.
I also tried to call them but got a message "we dont accept calls from Canada"... (I am not in Canada)
I get that a foreign IP may shadow decline me (which they should just be open about it but oh well)..
but why cancel my account!!!
That was something that must have been done by hand..
