Speeds were 2401 for the 147s, 2434 for the 140s, 2554 for the 120s, and 2546 for the 130 FGMM. The Hornady 140s shot the best, but only managed a 1.4 MOA group. But all of my groups were 20 rounds other than the Fed 130s, since I used 2 to sight in. The brass also landed much more consistently, too. There's also a non-zero chance that some of the rounds impacted weeds since the place was kinda grown over since my last time there. ![]() It was weird, all of the Hornadys center-punched the paster on the first shot, but then the 2nd shot would drop low. They would then slightly move up and stay there. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/204916/20250906_165249-3620131.jpg First round from the magazine often impacts slightly different. I believe it has to do with the difference in the bolt cycling from open release to full cycle. I see that in a lot of my rifles. So much so that when I shoot groups the first round is a sacrificial round then the group begins. Those groups are pretty darn good for 20 round groups with the first round included. I am still shooting suppressed in my 6.5 gasser. I need to try it with a brake. FWIW, when I switched to a brake on my Gap my groups shrunk drastically. So much so that I refused to take it off and return it to its owner. I had to buy him a new one. The brake I have on 2 guns is the MDT self timing and it works fantastic. The other brake that a lot of precision guys shoot is the fat bastard. Good luck. |

| I forgot, Knights like to do things differently and use the muzzle to index the brake and not a shoulder. So, I'm going to be limited to KAC brakes or if I can find the SF brake that runs off of the muzzle. |

Factory stick is somewhere between .089 and .092. Cartel barrel takes .093 if you hold your tongue right. I don't have any pin gauges (I've always been meaning to buy a set), just some wire-sized drill bits. |

Good luck. I figured it would have to be due to something with the first round being manually loaded. I never noticed that issue when it was 308, though. I looked at that brake and thought "$250 for a damn brake!?", but then remembered that the Knights' "6.5" brake is $380. ![]() I do need to get a brake though, it got kinda tiring after 80 rounds. you didn't happen to pin gauge the gas port before assembly, did you? Factory stick is somewhere between .089 and .092. Cartel barrel takes .093 if you hold your tongue right. I don't have any pin gauges (I've always been meaning to buy a set), just some wire-sized drill bits. I got a set off amazon last year when we were moving into this new place. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CCJCVXM8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3LM1VZG20GMDY&psc=1 I've had that same set in my wish list for years. ![]() /media/mediaFiles/sharedAlbum/Do_it_cropped-762.gif I know, I know. |
