Couldn't agree more. Not only is it extremely solid, but about as easy to assemble as an AR15 can be. |

This is the most solidly-built AR15 I've ever owned, and that's coming from someone who has been eyeball-deep into AR15s since the 1980s. When I let the bolt go home on my Stealth 2.0, it feels like no other AR15 I've felt. It's very smooth, solid, and positive, with no bounce. Feels like a heavily-lubed M60 or MG42/MG3 going into battery, it's that positive. https://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j422/LRRPF52/20170816_174654_zpszwnv2dnn.jpg View Quote |

The gun feels and cycles like a tuned 3-Gun racegun. I haven't trusted any AR15 manufacturers for decades, and have relied on myself to do my own builds since around the time of the Clinton AWB. My first 3 factory AR15s were: Colt AR15A2 Sporter II Bushmaster XM15E2S 11.5" Commando on a cast DPMS Pre-Ban A-15 lower Bushmaster XM15E2S 11.5" Commando complete Pre-Ban carbine From then-on, I only assembled my own, learning as much as I could along the way. This rifle has me to the point where I know I can at least trust one manufacturer out there if I was going to order a complete rifle and not have to mess around with anything on it. |

I went through the archived thread and this thread looking for data with factory ammo and user reported reloads.
I borrowed D3's template and used it for the Larue 18" Grendel. As you can see there isn't much data on the reloads! If anyone has more, or suggestions, please post up! Attached File |

Thanks for the update Brian. I want to try and keep this spreadsheet for only the 18" Larue barrel.
I don't have a Larue grendel, yet. I've asked for Larue gift cards for Christmas. If all goes well I hope to order a UU grendel on Christmas day. FDE of course to match the .260 |

The 14.5 inch is a LaRue barrel that I cut down for carrying with a suppressor. I still have one in 18” that I’ll chrono with that load when I get time. You’ll enjoy it when you get one. Both guns are the smoothest shooting Grendel’s I’ve ever shot. They’re pretty amazing.

The gun feels and cycles like a tuned 3-Gun racegun. Every AR15 I've assembled and new guns are usually very gritty with anodizing grating on anodizing until the surfaces are worn-in. With the complete Stealth 2.0 rifle, it literally felt like a tuned race gun out of the case. Before I received the rifle, I set my expectations very low because I haven't trusted AR15 manufacturers to do what I want for decades, so I just rely on myself and sifting through higher-end parts to get what I expect. I was formulating ways in which I would try to be polite on any complaints I may have with the rifle, and wondering how I would do that. Instead, it exceeded my expectations right out of the gate, starting with the attention to detail on the machining, fit, feel, solid/one-piece presentation of the whole rifle, how smooth the reciprocating components were, the FDE anodizing underneath the FDE coating, the vault-like fit of the upper and lower, just lovely all-around. I was originally planning on replacing the pistol grip and maybe the buttstock, but I quickly realized how much I like them as they are, and even purchased another FDE RAT stock on the EE along with an MBT-2S, then installed those on my Lilja build Grendel. |

Anyone else reloading for this Larue Grendel and want to share their load data?
@LRRPF52 are you loading for this rifle or mainly shooting the American Gunner ammo? Also ELDM is on-sale here: https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/hornady-eld%C2%AE-match%E2%84%A2-black%E2%84%A2-65-grendel-123-grain-rifle-ammunition |

I haven't seen any appreciable differences between this 18" Grendel and my other 18" Grendels, or vast samples of other 18" Grendel owners when looking at muzzle velocity with known factory and hand loads.
10rd sample of 123gr American Gunner gave me 2441fps 7rd sample of my 123gr A-MAX handload on CFE223 gave me 2519fps It behaves as expected with no surprises. |

Took the UU 6.5G out to 620 today using the Hornady AG. Boringly consistent to 587, the 620 was a little hit and miss for me but I'm pretty sure that was operator error.
Dope if you're curious, distances are random and we set targets up based on the hills/backdrop etc. 195 .6 357 2.2 400 2.8 536 4.5 587 5.4 620 5.9 I used an MV of 2415 with a BC of .455. Not the hottest load out there, and in all honesty I was planning on selling off my 6.5G stuff and moving onto Valkyrie after going through all my ammo, but now I think this is the perfect 600 yard round, which is convenient because that's as far as the property I have access goes to . |

http://i.imgur.com/1i1x9VL.jpg 300 yard shots to see how easy it will be to use the BDC marks out to 400 next month on pigs. I was glad to see that there wasn't right to left movement, also that the up and down was probably more from me not really focusing on how much of the red circle I was covering (or not) of the target. I was sad when I saw it was 4" versus what I expected (MOA) I may try to dial the dope and shoot another group without having to dance on top of the dot. http://i.imgur.com/iclOPyi.png View Quote |

Quoted: Ordered an FDE Monday. Now off to find a scope and mount, ammo, and other stuff. View Quote I’ve been searching for the right balance of size and magnification. Started with a 2.5-10x32. I settled on a 4-16x42. I felt like I needed more magnification due to the the ability of the Grendel. I didn’t want to make it a bench gun though. |

My upper shipped yesterday but no mags shipped. Guess I'll be hand feeding it for a while.
Got Hornady SST and Black to try. Will also try some Sierra bullets when I start reloading. Anyone else found a new load they like? |

I'd buy one from one of you if you want to sell and could ship soon'ish. |

Busy weekend......
How about a swap, I'll send you one of my 10's and you can send me your 10 when you receive it? Or just send mine back once you get in your order. They are both unused, just loaded them up and popped them in the safe. |
