I also don't want to use a knockoff on my real gun, that's the whole point of this thread ;) Because of the gas block residue we can be 100% sure the rail was used on a real rifle but is that also a dead giveaway that the rail is real, like couldn't a knockoff rail be used on a real gun? The whole rail looks and feels like a real rail, the markings on the front, as You mentioned, also indicate that it's a real rail but those screws that hold together the upper and lower heave misaligned slots, something i have seen on airsoft rails and not on real steel ones, so that's a bit concerning. The lower part also doesn't heave the violet coloring on the threads, but judging from the screws they were unscrewed at least a couple of times, so could the violet coloring wear off?
