I've ordered two IWC QD end plates from Ebay, which were advertised as "IWC QD end plates, melonite finish". Both were slightly higher priced than on your site (but free shipping), and both were from different vendors. Both look like your amazing machining, fantastic beautiful nitride/melonite finish, and both with (seemingly) laser etched logo's exactly like yours, and the same thickness (I've used probably about 7, in total, of yours. They are the only ones I'll use).
I thought nothing of it until recently when I took a closer look (after fitting a QD swivel to them) and noticed they are NOT rotation limited. Hmm. Are these fakes, or did you at one point make them w/o rotation limitation? Or maybe sell off a few "blems"? I will say, if they are fakes... they are the nicest made ones I have ever seen! I'm not concerned about the rotation limited for this application (it's kind of pointless, as the RE prevents rotation anyway), but if they are indeed fakes... I'll avoid buying these again, over ebay, and stick with known vendors that sell your REAL version. Thanks for any info on this! | Interesting. We scrap parts during the production run, as we follow the principles of SPC, or statistical process control. Product which does not meet the specifications on the print are scrapped and never make it to either anodize or plating. So my guess is these are fakes. I'll double check our records and current on-hand inventory just to make sure, but I didn't find this dealer in our records, nor have we ever sold to ebay directly. Stay tuned... I'll have more info tomorrow. |

They're fake.
We reviewed the CNC program, tools used, and inspection reports for each run from the past 12 months. Nothing changed in the process and inspection shows each feature met spec. Thanks for bringing this to our attention We'll contact the seller on eBay. |
