I was all excited to replace the dim at dusk 3-9 scope on my 6.8 rem carbine.
I bought the SLx 1-6x scope and also ordered the battery cap (shake awake) and the suggested mount in the pop up suggested accessories list.
I got the delivery a couple days before Christmas and started to mount things up, kind of a mock fit, nothing torqued down yet. I am particular about scope eye relief as this gets used in the cold weather and adding a heavy coats can mess up the fit and eye relief. Dang it, the extended scope mount and scope combo have me right on the edge of usable eye relief. My friend commented that it’s a hell of a lot of cantilever and I look at it and it is. Oops, this is the extra extended not the regular PA deluxe mount but it is what I ordered, my fault. I am in the last notch on the picatinny and the scope is slid right up to the knobs. About a half inch from ideal.
I cogitated on it a day and end up deciding, I’ll ship the mount back and get the regular PA Deluxe mount. No big deal, I’d rather have it right and I will soon forget the return shipping cost of something I should have been more alert to avoiding. So on a quiet moment after the Christmas excitement I sent a request for exchange RMA to Primary Arms.
They were quick to get back to me after the holiday. Nope William won’t send a RMA.
William is sending the mount I need, no RMA, just keep the extended mount, no charge on the new mount. Happy Holidays.
