Some background info: I bought a Colt 6933 stripped upper on the EE as unfired/new condition. The seller stated that he bought it new from G&R Tactical. I already called Colt with the issue but they said I'd need to speak to GR Tactical based on their service agreement which is understandable. This is one of the newer Colt products that has no M4 marking, no cage code nor C raised. Only a keyhole marking.
The issue: The end of the upper receiver where it meets the charging handle is not perfectly machined. As you can see in the picture, the Geissele SCH shows gaps on the left side. This same SCH fits perfectly leaving no gaps on other upper receivers.
Question: Is this acceptable coming from Colt?
I basically don't want to go back to the seller as it's been while and I've just noticed it just now (the milspec CH doesn't show the gap as much and no very noticeable)
I haven't notice any abnormal wear but haven't shot this upper that much either. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the extended lip that the SCH provides to mitigate gas in the face when shooting suppressed.
Comments are very welcome. Thanks in advance.
