I spoke to Brownells customer service yesterday about replacing an AR15 Magazine made by Brownells. Bought it off the EE here new in the wrap. To make a long story short, the magazine is too large to fit in any of my AR's. And I tried several. A few you could get in with some force but it was absolutely never going to drop free. Customer service asked me if I purchased it from Brownells and if I had the receipt. I said no, I purchased it from an individual on Arfcom but it was new in the wrap and stamped Brownell's on the bottom. She said sorry, we can't exchange or return it. I just thought, if it were used or abused I could understand but new? Anyway, makes me question how one mag could be so out of spec. I have 40 or so in the wrap that I plan to open tonight and see if I have any more like this.
I guess it's my fault but I assumed they would replace it if I sent them the old one. Maybe they could determine lot# or something as I still have the wrapper it came in. I blame myself for buying magazines and assuming that they should be GTG just because of condition or brand. I'll still keep the ones I have as I have several that are GTG and probably just eat the rest.
Moral of this story is I assumed based on appearance and brand. Lesson learned.
