Any news on the availability of AAC 5.7x28? Last I heard was mid November. Also, what type of loads will be available?

Any update? Desperately waiting for reasonably priced 5.7. Thanks. |

According to this thread, a member here toured AAC and witnessed 5.7 in production.

Hoping PSA comes out with some spicier solid coppers so I can send money to PSA instead of EA or Vanguard.

Any update? I know the previous thread disappeared…probably because the ammo wasn’t released as advertised (several months ago). Haven’t seen it mentioned in any emails, so I’m assuming I haven’t missed its release.

Quoted: Quoted: I spoke to Jamin on the phone last night. Yes, full tilt. Sweet. I look forward to the data. Me too. 5.7 can comfortably launch a 40gr @ 1950fps while staying under SAAMI spec. Currently its loaded to 40gr @ 1750fps. So even hitting 1800-1850fps would be a wonderful improvement. 1900fps would be a game changer. I know AAC is going to use the VMAX; but perhaps it may be worth looking into the Nosler equivalent ballistic tip? Nosler is what's used in the Elite Protector load, as the bullet works down to 1600fps and they say has more consistent expansion then the VMAX. https://eliteammunition.com/ProtecTOR-I-p275581078 |

Awesome, thank you. Fingers crossed for 1800fps+ Received my shipment last Wednesday and took it to the range on Friday with my LabRadar Shots 1-5 AE 40gr Shots 6-10 AAC 40gr Vmax Shots 11-15 FN 40gr Vmax Shot ID V0 (fps @ muzzle) 1 1883 2 1898 3 1908 4 1910 5 1923 6 1906 7 1938 8 1897 9 1919 10 1910 11 2042 12 2081 13 2066 14 2094 15 2026 I fired 50 rounds of each that day (FiveSeven, PS90 SBR). I was having trouble getting the LabRadar to trigger on the PS90, so data was erratic and not worth posting. Maybe 100fps gain out of the PS90 SBR, skirting around 2000 fps. For comparison the SS197 was pushing 2150 fps and SS198 around 2550 fps We experienced 5 failures with the AE ammo and ZERO failures with the AAC. It fed and cycled great. Velocity wise, it will be comparable to AE though, but for the price and the fact it cycles well at a price point similar to the AE, I'll take it. I look forward to trying the cheaper FMJ load. |

Thank you very much for doing this test. The velocity numbers you've shared are unusually high; are you sure thats not the PS90 SBR velocity? SS197 has been 40gr @ 1750fps from the FN Five Seven for basically forever. Shots 11-15, showing 2000+fps, are equal or better then the very hottest $2 a bullet loads from Elite. If those are all from the PS90, its worriesome to see the AAC having lower velocity then SS197, as SS197 is already at threshold expansion for the 40gr VMAX projectile when fired from a FN FsN/Rock etc 4.75" barrel. |

View Quote Honestly the range outing was not ideal as we had about 30 minutes to set up and conduct a test before we were cut off because of light rules (no shooting past 5:30pm), but I wanted to get some numbers as I know I promised them. Looking at my spreadsheets of data, we had 1 solid set of 12 locks out of 15 shots and one set of 15 out of 16. The set of 12 is coming in at a reduced velocity. similar to what you're saying. We did have a set of faster readings, which I commented above. It's possible my friend ran a set of with his long barrel P90 that was there and I had my notes backwards while rushing. As for the AAC vs SS197SR, I can absolutely 100% say for certain, the FN was loaded hotter. It sounded hotter, it measured hotter. The AAC loads were VERY comparable to the AE rounds, with the exception that the AAC actually cycled out of a P90. Lot code that I was testing was SLC5CA301. Curious if anyone has similar results. |

A little disappointed it's not even up to ss197 numbers, but it is cheaper and sounds like it's reliable.

I would get a 5.7 IF there was available ammo that’s loaded to full potential.
Now it’s time for some gel tests on the 40 Vmax. |

All right--having officially spent enough at PSA the last 20-ish years to buy 2 new cars--I have now given 5 different email accounts to be notified when it is in stock and HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A NOTICE ON ANY OF THEM.....
Who do I have to kill or blow to actually get the damn notices to WORK? |

Even when you get them to work, they 'expire' in about a week, and nothing ever restocks in that week.
It's all pretty hopeless. |

So all the hot ticket items that sell out in seconds or minutes don’t trigger the notifications. |

I finally got a few boxes of vmax in hand. Sadly two were busted open during shipping but oh well. After handling almost 100 loose rounds I figured my hands would be black as others have stated it's kinda dirty. Iirc PSA said it would be cleaner and my batch wasn't bad at all. Excited to test it out. FYI the rounds are packed vertical which I've never seen, just an observation. Ty PSA for making ammo. Might pick up a rock soon to compliment my sbr suppressed ps90 space gat
