So out of curiosity, I wanted to see what my 762-SD looked like on my 6.5CM because I have an appointment with ECCO for my 762SD to get a mount conversion as my 6.5CM has a thick barrel and taper muzzle (for a Sig/Q).
Interestingly enough, I have a used Deep Socket Blackout sitting around and I noticed it happens to have enough of a skirt on it to easily reach past the taper and index on the thick barrel’s .875” shoulder. I only torqued it on with a wrench a bit past hand tight... but an alignment rod checks out for both my 762-SD and 762-SDN-6. It looks square/flat and there’s a good contact patch. The shoulder and taper were cut concentric to each other so it’s nicely centered and it’s only a 6.5mm projectile and because the skirt and taper are similar lengths, I basically get full thread engagement. It’s like this perfect combination of coincidences..
Is this going to be problematic; indexing on the end of the skirt? Because if I don’t need to get the can modified and then buy a new adapter mount... that’d be nice.
I guess my concern is all the compression on a thinner ring of the skirt instead of the solid base of the mount once it’s fully torqued and heats up and stuff...
