I'm hoping for an after-market product that will make the charging-handle non-reciprocating. I know it's a little early but that will make the rifle definitely more attractive to me. There will be no after market product to do that. It is non-reciprocating already! Maybe you are talking about the SCAR because it has a reciprocating charging handle. The ACR was rumored to but that rumor was put to rest... in this thread if you care to look back a couple pages. I do believe this is a case of someone not doing their research properly, or believing unsubstantiated rumors. Rich has come on here himself and said that the charging handle is, and always was, non-reciprocating. The supposed change was a rumor started on another website, and it appears to have been spread to the masses. I was addressing the thread above my post that was referring to the SCAR, not the ACR. I know the ACR does not have a reciprocating charge handle. My desire was there would eventually be an aftermarket product for the FN SCAR to make their charging handle non reciprocating. I guess I should have been more specific in my post. |

I know that I am in the ACR thread. And I want an ACR. It is not available yet. I was simply commenting on a feature of the SCAR that someone commented in the same ACR thread. Are you having a bad day or did I run terribly afoul because I mentioned the SCAR in the ACR thread?

+1 I was at one of my local fav. gunstores and thay have had a SCAR on the shelf for a LONG time. They haven't sold the thing and every time I go in there i look at the price tags and it's gone down sine they first got it! I guess it will sell eventually,-but not to me. I wouldn't pay more than $1550 for it. That's about half of what they want for it. -ZA Local shop here has had the same SCAR for months and months, trying to sell it off $2995 and it's not moving. If the ACR comes out and it's half that it's going to sell like hotcakes one way or another. |

Magpul sponcers this site finiancially, and as a sponcer they get their own forum to discuss their products and or for others here to discuss their products. Although one could not tell from this thread, but commenting on their competitions product, who is not a sponce on this site, is if nothing else, tacky. |

This thread is funny... Arguing about stuff that know one except Drake knows about. I think it is great when a manufacturer makes two versions of something and says that one will be military only and that is what everyone wants. Doesn't matter what it is. It could be just a different pictogram. That would be a great marketing ploy to sell the really expensive metal lowers. And my dealer has a SCAR sitting on his shelf for quite some time now. I have seen a bunch of MSAR STG's come and go since that SCAR came in. Jeremy On that note, I look forward to purchasing an ACR. I think that it will be worth the wait, and I 100% understand why Bush/Rem/Magpul are being tight lipped about everything. The rifle will be ready when it is ready. They have put a ton of effort into getting it right the first time. They are going to make sure they take care of their customers. I will purchase multiple ACRS in my lifetime as long as it meets the expectations given. Everyone relax! They are coming, I am sure we will have more info at SHOT. Chill out about the metal lower, I am sure that eventually we will see one! That is why this rifle is so cool. It will give other manufacturers the opportunity to push boundaries! ON THAT NOTE! THANKS MAGPUL! +1... I don't care if there is a snake or an R on the thing. I will get one if they don't jack up the price. Jeremy |

And I will get one as long as the Civi version is not too different than the mil spec. A Remington LE would be my first choice but we'll see.

Is the ejection port on the ACR big enough for calibers like .458 socom, .50 Beowulf, and 450 bushmaster since the .50 Beowulf take the same bolt as the 7.62x39 all you would have to do would be swap the barrel out but would the casings eject?

Very cool Remington video.
I wanted mine in Black. But the more I've seen the FDE, the more it has grown on me. Decisions. Decisions... |

Someone posted that they talked with Bushmaster today. Planned delivery between Feb/March, priced between $1400.00-$1700.00
FWIW, and I'll take mine in black. |

Teach him for being the recipient of thrown chairs!! You mean the mustachioed fella in camo in the shoot house? Can't be Geraldo. Like you mentioned, everyone knows that the correct round for Geraldoes is chair, not 5.56 or 6.8. Great, now I want to see a Magpul tactical throwing chair. |

Is there a place to pre order an ACR?? If so where and how much?
|
|
I'm waiting for them to be listed on RSR. The moment they are, I'll have one ordered.

Excuse my ignorance but what is RSR? A distributor. My local gun shop goes through them for at least some stuff. |

Just some of the latest pics i have. Showing the latest military handguard, the 2 stock options, a 10.5" and a 14.5" mid-length barrels. |

Man, I am so going to need to get 2 of these. 1 to keep as is (16.1+) for easier state line crossing and in case I get stationed in a non SBR allowing state, and 1 to SBR for maximum adaptability and fun!

I like the original handguard. I can't stand all those damn rails. The original handguard is already a production item and will be offered. |

Any reason why the ACR can't take different grips? Sometimes the one size fit all grip don't apply to everyone.

Anyone have a shot of an ACR with the PRS stock? I have yet to see a photo of it.

Other than the observation that the ACR's pistol grip is an integral part of the lower receiver? Probably not without a substantial design change, then. There's been some talk about a metal lower receiver that appears to be compatible with existing AR grips and trigger guards, but with very few details (i.e. no detail at all) available on that, I don't think I'd hold my breath. Seems like it could be a while. |
