To piggyback off what Aimless said, the cops in NJ later decided it would be a good idea to discuss enforcement and tell the world they WON’T be going door to door.

Social media went wild with stuff that would be COC violations here. The Nazi uniforms combined with confiscations were just too much, I guess.

This already has happened in California and D.C. Its not a matter of if but when it will happen in NY or other states. Its naive to think otherwise.  Warrants will be issued and law enforcement officers will carry them out. I fled NY over a year ago. Sure, gun control may be coming to the whole country but the way I see it, I have one life to live. I moved where I could still enjoy my rights and freedom while I had a chance. Also, to let my kids see what freedom is truly like so they may fight the good fight in the future. Gun rights aren't the only reason to leave these commie states either. My wife and I are good hard working people with a lot to offer our community and I am not wasting that on a state that goes against, and tries to tear down every one of my values.

It’s the attitude of NY and NJ cops.  They drank the koolaid and believe some guns are bad.  When I’m in KY or FL or down south there is a tangible LACK of feel in the air when one is armed and a cop is around.  In NY one is looked at like a criminal. In FL the LEO don’t look at you funny, don’t back a few steps and they only ask about your gun if they are truly and personally interested.  Completely different attitudes

Yes. There will be those who fight back and those who submit.  Let me add that my words are not jabs at law enforcement.  I have many cops in my family.  The fact is, and my family members will tell you that not all cops are pro 2a and their politics are just as mixed as citizens.

Having been on this forum for 14 years, when/if such a scenario becomes a reality, the people who will most likely experience the full force of it are those of us downstate in the SAFE Act friendly NYC Metro area (NYC, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland). NYPD, NCPD and SCPD are already quite well rehearsed on fishing for "illegal" firearms and I am sure would have no problem implementing such an order. People living in places like Tioga, Livingston, Steuben and Wyoming counties that gave the finger to Cuomo over SAFE are probably less susceptible to such orders.

What kind of manpower would that take? After the first place was hit & social media does what it does, nothing but dry holes & people expecting their asses... So unit from down state would have to work upstate & vise versa to avoid/minimize retribution to families... What kind of numbers until they cant stomach it? Lefties ready to pull troops in foreign countrys after minimal loss, how long they gonna last when its in their back yards? Have they considered that they will soon be in a defensive position... Meh, only time will tell

On the bright side, that could work to the people's advantage. They could very well be called to bust in the doors on their own house LOL. Does not make for an incentivized force. I am sure the legislature will "correct" that "mistake" in 2019 under pressure from the police unions.

Over the the many millennia of recorded human history, the constant pattern is that most governments devolve into authoritarian type regimes with little tolerance for the populace or freedom. Governments like their power and only need the population as a whole to provide the funding needed to run the government. Eliminating a percentage of the population up to the point that it causes a significant drop in tax income is the only limiting factor. The founding father knew that governments devolve into tyranny and they set out to create a framework to prevent that. To their credit, they created a system that endured over 200 years. However, as with any man made system, there are the tinkerers who make changes (amendments) as well as those who disregard it (judges) and have allowed us to reach the point we are at now. I only need to look at thousands of years of human history to know it going to get much much worse before it eventually gets better.

At the time, the British Military fielded the absolute state of the art weaponry and equipment. Most Americans couldn't be bothered with worrying about the usurpations of the Crown upon them.

The talk of revolting against the Crown started long before it happened....as the British turned up the heat on the pot gradually the more revolt was discussed. I agree and bolded what I think-  a few glorious arrests and confiscations here and there in each community that will make the news and held up as examples, and it will be the state boys coming in at 4 am, not the local Sheriffs.
