The State of Maryland is seeking the public’s help in preventing future active shooter incidents, through a short survey.

The survey is designed to gather input from schools, government agencies, corporations, first responders and the general public in order to develop ideas that may prevent incidents like the massacre in Parkland, Florida, from happening in Maryland.

“We are looking for things that we might of thought of,” Lt. Prendi Garcia of the Maryland State Police said. “A lot of time the community may have a simple solution for the big problem. The more ideas and solutions we get, the better. It is like a huge Maryland brainstorm event.”

Garcia said the main purposes of the survey is to find answers or solutions to the problem.
