man that is a great informative video... I used to metal detect the outside parking lot of the piedmont fairgrounds and always tried to get permission to get inside where the old grandstands were... during my research I got all kinds of info on the races held there.
don't know if it's true but have been told it was the original pick for the Talladega speedway, but due to the "dry" Sunday a deal could not be reached... now if true.. that's a hell of a story.

yep, spartanburg was the original proposed location of talladega.....
there is such amazing history here.
