Offer has been argreed to and the checks had been written. My wife and I are buying property in Lake Charles. We close on our house and will be moving next week.

The house needs work, and after the hurricane even more. We were spared mostly, we lost shingles and had an oak fall on the roof but resulted in more lost shingles. We have had contractors lined up since July, but lawyers kept pushing us back. Now trying to get work done isnt as easy. However, we have some family friends who are contractors who will be doing most of the work for us. It is good to be in the "network". Have your Mama call mine, cha. As my wife will say.

My wife is super excited. Her family is from there and all are very happy to have us down the road. I am happy at saving all that gas driving back and forth from Alabama. Now we just have to get everything loaded up and hauled over.

Welcome!  Lake Charles in a great place to live.  I lived there for 7 years during and after college.  Its a mess right now because of Laura, but its gonna come back better than ever.

Congrats. Lots of plant work available, casinos always have some live entertainment, and best of all some good fishing.

I am most excited about the fishing. I have a small 14' jon boat but want a larger one. I was particularly excited about surf fishing but I know Rutherford Beach was hit really hard. We are about 30 minutes north.

I am hoping to get into one of the plants. My wife is a nurse so she will not have a hard time finding work.

We just moved here also right before the 1st hurricane. We will be doing the full move at the end of February.

What town?
We finally made the move the day after Delta, we were supposed to leave that Friday but he closing of our old house was delayed so we stayed another day.
