ETA: now looking for window tint suggestions!! Thank you!!

Hey guys I’m about done living with these cracks in this windshield, in certain times of the day it’s like staring into a welder! Does anybody have any recommendations good or bad experiences that they’ve had? Obviously you have Safelite, but I’d prefer a local mom and pop as opposed to paying for commercials. Also, what about glass quality, any difference anyone knows of?

Thanks all and hope you have a great weekend!!

Call your insurance company and ask for approved vendors. Then they will back up the install. If you use someone who is not approved and have an issue it's all on you, and the cheap places use second rate glass. Ask me how I know.

I've used a couple of mom and pop places in the past and the replacement glass ended up cracking without any visible strike marks. I don't know if they used cheap glass or it was poorly installed. Their prices were reasonable though around $200-$250 without insurance getting involved.

The owner of Select Auto Glass is one of us.

Obligatory pic of his smoker.

Curious as to why never use safelite? I have had Safelite replacement windshield glass and OEM Lexus replacement glass and it all goes to shit within two or three years regardless of manufacturer.

I got dicked around so hard by the people in Mesa I about lost my head with them which is extremely rare for me. Liers, time wasters, incompetent installs, mismanaged to waste customers time.

Thanks everyone, finally got around to this and used these guys. Fantastic group of people as far as I can tell.

When complete, the installer showed me a very minor blemish in the glass that my OCD self wouldn’t even have ever noticed. Got the option for a redo or 50% off. Took the 50, great folks.

Thanks again everyone! Next up…. Window tint! Mines falling apart. Suggestions?

Go see my buddy Lenny. He is the best. Tell him Hank sent you. If you bring him a six pack, he might let you play his pinball machine.

Edit to add: Don't try to take the old stuff off yourself.

I don’t have a buddy or know a guy, but I’ve used a company in NE Mesa 2x and been very happy with the installation and the product. https://www.smartfilmaz.com/

I had Quality Bumper on Grand Ave (PHX) remove/replace my 20+ year old tint with new.
Came out to less than $80.
Believe they have a shop in Mesa.
