Anybody have experience in ohio ordering a whole cow to have butchered? Looking to get one to split up between the family but have never done it before so not sure where/who to go to. Also, for. 1/4 would regular 4 cu ft freezer be enough? Going to buy a second fridge for the basement.

I love OinkMooCluck.  Their chorizo is excellent.

Looks like some nice choices but way too expensive for me. The sausages and chorizo are about only things I saw that were anywhere close to grocery prices.

I've used Kiko Meat - https://www.kikomeatsinc.com/

and regularly use http://www.whitingweber.com/meatspecials.html

Whiting typically does all my cattle, pigs and lambs.  We raise cattle, so I have 4-5 a year that go to Whitings, plus normally two pigs and two lambs we buy from the 4H auctions.

Kiko does my neighbor's buffalo's and pigs.

A friend of a friend's family owns this place too:

They do decent work.

Good luck.
I know several of the meat processors up here in north west Ohio are backed up thru August already due to so many of the major slaughter houses being closed.

@NightFox

Yeah, its pricier, that being said I think the quality is also better.  I also like to try & support the local shops when I can.  The wife also likes their chicken/apple brats so she's on board with shopping there.

I typically hit up their booth at the Worthington farmers market since I'm utterly underwhelmed by the Delaware farmers market.

I emailed a guy in Butler county and he was taking orders for spring 2021.

They are getting slammed right now.

Yeah, It is crazy.  I think all of our steers are sold into fall of 2021 as well.
