We're going Monday as that is Military Day and the parade. We used to go on Monday as well because that was when the stock car races were...then the Fair Board decided to get rid of the race track.
  Looking forward to the 76 degree temperature that day and spending time with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend from North Carolina that is getting out of the Marines and has never been to our Fair.

Nope. Been there three times. Once when mom got the century farm certificate and a couple of times with friends to drink over priced Busch Light.
I know people that have been there every year they've been on the planet. Know people that will camp the entire two weeks. I'm not one of them. There is however a gun show in Clive this weekend. |

Our daughter was 1 month old when she went to her first fair and other than the Covid cancellation year she's been to every other one, this year will be her 22nd Fair. I enjoy going as I'm always running into people I know or haven't seen in a long time.

I've never been, even when I worked a Saylorville lake. I had a apartment in Ankeny then, went home on weekends. Never went to the fair. Now I have the time and want to go, I fear the crowds, facilities and distances will be insurmountable for me.

The wife and I might go Tuesday night. I'd like to see Hairball or Vixen.
