I've been dealing with a bad hip for over 2 years now. Docs say I need a replacement. Who's a good ortho doc in Idaho?

I’ve had 8 surgeries with the staff at Idaho Sports Medicine Institute (ISMI) and they’re all pretty awesome, but I don’t know if they have any docs that do hips. Dr Grimm, Dr Lewis, and Dr Wade have all been great for me, but I think Wade is semi retired…

I had hip replacement by Dr. West at Summit Orthopedics last year in Idaho Falls. I would use him again if needed.

I am a hip and knee specialist in Meridian, but in the honor of not shamelessly promoting myself, my friend Jared Armstrong is a great surgeon. He and I both do anterior hips and that is the way to do it.

Okay, I have a meeting scheduled with Dr. Colin Poole in Meridian... for September! That's the earliest he can get me in for a first consultation. If I wasn't in constant and serious pain I'd be OK with this. But it seems to be what I'm stuck with.

The doctor I originally saw in September has retired. (He got me a steroid shot in my hip then.) Someone set me up with another doctor at St. Lukes, who saw me once and has since ghosted me! I've called him 4 times and left messages each time and had no followup!

I know Grimm personally and I would recommend him as well.

He’s one hell of a surgeon! Back in November of last year he reattached my hamstring up by my pelvis. To date, it’s the easiest surgery I’ve had! Just about zero pain post-op and I’m as strong as I’ve ever been! 8 weeks on crutches sucked ass but man, he did an outstanding job!

Great to hear! I’ve referred close friends to him and they have all had good experiences.

Not that it makes a person a better surgeon, but he is also a conservative pro 2A guy.
