Parents are retiring and fleeing IL for IN, they are currently in the Elk Grove/Schaumburg area (zip code 60007). Dad has a Liberty Franklin 27 in the basement that he would like to see moved to new house (currently being built) near South Bend IN.

We Move Safes did a great job installing the safe originally, but we are needing to explore options getting this safe from IL to IN. I'm assuming pick up and delivery might turn into a very expensive proposition.

Question 1, has anyone gone down similar path?

Question 2, are we better off to sell safe locally in IL and buy new from local source and have delivered fro local source?

Call Midwest gun exchange in Mishawaka. Ask them who they contract with. They sell lots of safes.

IIRC South Bend is the IL of IN when it comes to gun control crap. I would urge the parents to pick a different area if possible.

South Bend is Indiana's Chicago.

What does this mean?

There are a lot of reasons not to move to SB, but "gun control" is not one of them. In Indiana, local governments are not able to have their own gun laws.
