I left NM in March 2019 for the Baltimore area, and a promotion.  But I really miss the mountains.  NM is a beautiful but fucked up state.  I see that there is a GS-13 position at the base.  I look at my old photos of the mountains in NM, and wish I was back out west.

Moved here from GA a little more than four years ago.  We love Utah.  I work at Hill and commute about 30 miles.  Houses are expensive but the cost of living is not terrible at least wasn’t until Brandon and company done their thing.

Cost of living and taxes are ok for the metro area.  Cost of living is increasing but not as bad as SLC.

Ogden has more crime than other parts of the davis/weber county area, but in the grand scheme not too bad.

Utah is in a severe drought and winters have sucked for the past decade.  Hopefully you enjoy hot dry summers and wildfire smoke.
