MISSOULA, Mont.   Authorities in Pend Orielle County, Washington report that a human skull found by a hunter in November 1982, near Newport, has been identified as Mildred (Allison) Hubertz who was 59 when she went missing from St. Ignatius in 1968.

The skull was sent for DNA analysis in 2017, a press release notes.

In October 2022, the skull was sent to Othram, Inc. for an additional DNA profile that could be uploaded to genealogical databases.

Investigators were able to match the DNA profile to Hubertz's great-granddaughter.
