I'm planning to check it out. Never been there.

I was given this schedule:

0700 Reveille
0800 living history begins
1100 weapons demonstrations
1200 small pitch battle for public (to follow immediately after weapons demo)
1300 lunch break
1400 living history continues
1700 Fort closes

I've wanted go but seem to have local plans when they host it.

Some friends of mine stumbled across the event several years ago and loved it.

They're doing another Normandy Invasion (D-Day) event November 4th at Fort Gaines.

Across the bay at Fort Morgan, there will be a USMC Tarawa Invasion that same weekend (3rd through the 5th). You can take the ferry from one side to the other.
