Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Visiting Hawaii in the spring, any suggestions from the locals?

My wife and I will be visiting Hawaii in March or April, and staying on Oahu (Aulani).

We will be visiting Pearl Harbor, the Missouri, and we know we have to fly to the Big Island to see the volcano-related sites.

If you were a tourist, what would you make a point of seeing while we are there?

Is there anywhere I can fly a drone without getting in trouble? A largely empty beach with mountains or cliffs would make for some beautiful photos.

Lastly, and can't-miss restaurants?

If u are at aulani, then my suggestion is to eat at Monkeypods kitchen across the street during happy hour.  half off the beer and pizza.

No idea about drone laws or etiquette though.  i’m too poor to have multiple hobbies.

If you go to Waikiki, Barefoot Beach Cafe at Queens Beach. Go for dinner so you can watch the sunset. Flea market at the Aloha Stadium on Weds and Saturdays. Dont buy souvenirs till you go there.
