Head up Sinks Canyon which is west of Lander and go to the rise.
South of Lander on South Pass is a pretty cool mining town called Atlantic City. The Mercantile has good burgers Just south of Dubois there’s a new Military Vehicle museum that opened up last year. Haven’t been there yet. You can fly fish the Wind River in the Canyon below the dam. Jackson is 2hrs away if that’s your thing and there’s always Yellowstone, but go mid week |

Kind of a bad time to be sight seeing as all the smoke from the California wild fires obscures all of the mountains, and you can't see anything.
You need a Reservation fishing license as well to fish pretty much anywhere in the Wind River Canyon. All of the gun shops in Cody are worth visiting, you can tour Gunwerks there if that's your thing. |
