Not much... but the corn is still up... But if you look behind the deer you see eyes.. doesn't look like deer eyes. |

I got out for about 30min tonight before the rain and wind moved in. The wind was strong enough to chase me out of the stand.
One doe at 50+yds in the woods. Hunting horns only at this point. |

There are about 9+ bucks running around my AO of different ages. By my count there are two 10s, two 8s, two young 4s and at least three 2s. Could be more. Those are the ones I have seen.
The salt blocks are on a tree stump with holes drilled to kill the roots. About 20yds from my front door. Attached File Attached File |

I woke up at my normal weekday time 5AM Saturday with every intention of going out and sitting in my doghouse blind. I sat down and the feeling went away, I went back to bed and woke up at 8am. I proceeded to look out of the kitchen window shortly thereafter. I observed a nice six point and a doe casually walking right in front of the previously mentioned blind.

I made the mistake of pouring a hundred pounds of corn 25’ off my stand today.
At 6:30pma doe and her yearling came in and spent an hour on that pile. I couldn’t move, got a hamstring cramp, and had to fart for over an hour before I spooked them off at quitting time. Next time, it’s 50’. |

I had deer running down my street in Cleveland Heights yesterday

Just a reminder, to put safety first when out in the woods. Strap in every time you step up.
Wasn't fall related but I was clearing some dead ash trees at the farm we hunt about a week ago and and got ahead of myself. We cut one and it got stuck in another tree on the way down. Instead of slowing down, roping it off and pulling it down from a safe distance, I thought it looked like 2 of us should be able to pull it down as it was only about 8" diameter. It did come down, then the bottom end bounced/levered/something back off the ground and caught me in the head. Results: 1 trip to ER 7 hours of blank time that day Concussion Fractured zygomatic arch Broken front tooth Black eye Stayed on my feet the whole time but after about 15 minutes my buddies realized I was playing groundhogs day with everything I said over and over. Bobcat are all over the place. ODNRs facebook page has some nice trail cam shots.
I saw one at my parents place last year, in Ross county. |

Email reply from the ODNR wildlife biologist....
I received a message that you captured a picture of a bobcat on your trail camera, and are looking for some information on bobcats in Licking County. Thanks for reaching out about this sighting. We collect reports of sightings from the public to track the distribution of bobcats. Licking County is on the western edge of the current distribution of bobcats in Ohio. The first confirmed sighting in Licking county was in 2006, but after that we didn’t receive another confirmed sighting until 2013. Confirmed sightings have some sort of evidence (photo, roadkill, etc.) that we can use to verify that the animal seen was in fact a bobcat. We’ve received less than 10 confirmed sightings each year from Licking county, although the number of confirmed sightings has gone up each of the past 3 years. In 2019 we received 9 confirmed sightings from Licking County, in comparison to 35 confirmed sightings in Muskingum County the same year. Most of the sightings reported in Licking county are in the eastern half of the county. View Quote I shared pictures and info with her to put into the database. Pretty cool to capture a picture of something so rare in my neighborhood. |

For those of you that get 100's of photos per game camera, what are you using to view your photos?
My laptop is getting older and struggles to load hundreds of photos at once. Anyone using the $75 card readers? |

I'd rather not report.....
That is the best picture, most of them are at night. But I get cats on the cam fairly regularly. After I saw the picture I was excited to try and hunt them....I didn't know then it was frowned upon. |

I'll try one that plugs into a phone and go from there. |

From the 2020 Hunting and Trapping Regulations handbook: “PROTECTED SPECIES include yellowlegs, plovers, snowshoe hares, bears, badgers, bobcats, fishers, porcupines, flying squirrels, and nongame birds. Protected species may not be hunted or taken at any time. Hungarian partridge may not be taken except from a shooting preserve, dog training area, or field trial.” |
