anyone been? is it worth the short trek over to Richardson?

I have company in town this weekend and they want to do BBQ for dinner, so I can't make Cattleack work this weekend, since they're just open for lunch hours.

I was contemplating taking them to Hutchens or Lockhart (my usual backups to cattleack), but ten50 looks good too.

not interested in hard 8 - you can save that recommendation.

thanks

Never tried it.  Decent crowds, good smells when I drive by on the frontage road.

We've had some good stuff at Intrinsic Smokehouse in downtown Garland.

Never been there, but coming from a guestimated POV, if they do enough business that they are only open for lunch, prob good.

I've only been once and wasn't impressed by the food.
Nice setup with smokers as you enter, but the brisket was overly fatty.

I'm halfway between Hutchins and Ten50 and have yet to return to Ten50.
I do like Lockhart in downtown Plano.

I'll eventually give Ten50 another try.

I went a few years ago
Agree—fatty.

Stopped a few weeks ago for some sausage to take home that was good.
Guy gave me a sample of brisket and it was good for sure
But.. he may have cherry picked.

If you want nice setting, Give them a try. Maybe they have improved
As a bonus, Renegade Cigars is next door to 10-50

Lockhart in Plano also if you want bbq  atmosphere

Not fancy but I like Mike  Anderson’s in Dallas.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with Hard 8 either.  It was pretty fancified and the brisket was kinda meh.  I'd rather go to Rudy's...  and I consider that "fast food BBQ".

Several restaurant reviews spoke highly of Winners BBQ on 14th St in Plano.
I was excited because its about a half mile from my office.
meh, not Meh.

Same with Burnt Barbecue and Tacos on Custer at Parker. Underwhelming.

Where is the Lockhart's in Plano?
Hutchins has another location in Frisco.
Might be a bit out of your way but there is a BBQ place in downtown Celina that's supposed to be good.

Thanks for the advice, guys - we wound up at Lockhart and my guests loved it. I’ll check out ten50 on my own time and see how it is.

Any Texan I see recommend hard 8 tells me all I need to know about their bbq competence.
