This deserves its own thread, our Yankee transplant needs his own for further interrogation
I believe @kcobean is graciously offering to host us somewhere Southeast of Nashville later this spring/earlier this summer. I'm down to load up my smoker or provide meat for the event to help out. How much interest can we garner with our own thread? |

If there’s not enough interest for those and we want to shoot for later in the summer to give people time to get it in their calendars that’s fine too. |

Can I request you get in touch w/ @romad99 to check his work schedule so we have the chance to include him as well? |

Then non "members" started trying to show up. @taliv If there are enough folks who shoot at SE there are a few of us who can talk with Tony to see about hosting a HTF shoot. I just don't want to be liable for all of you . |

i'm as far east as you can get without being in NC, so it's a 5 hr drive to nashville now but who knows?
we started an east TN signal group back around covid or whatever and I have been hosting a small NV shoot a couple times a year. it's about time to do it again as the last one was in Dec. |

Yall now have the best dates available to vote on. Go forth, after July it'll be hotter than two rats in a wool sock.
I did 3 years in Okinawa so I could care less about the heat and humidity |

Would this be the kinda event where it would be appropriate to bring guns?

I believe there is a gun range on the premises. Upon further reading elsewhere, kcobean's #1 rule of ANYONE shooting on his range is, if you send one over the berm, you're done, permanently. Doesn't matter if there's nothing for a mile beyond his berm, if you don't have the muzzle and trigger discipline to not send rounds out unintended, you don't get to risk his property.
Bonus internet points if you bring lever guns in oddball calibers no one shoots anymore. |

For those that might not have seen the other thread, here is the range and the “post shooting relaxation facility”

How long have you been in Tennessee for?
Not here to pick on you, just genuinely curious. I'm a damned transplant too but only because Uncle Sugar said so. |

View Quote It's all good, I'm not that crazy about Yankees myself. I'm hoping my fellow Illinois refugees that come down here don't want to destroy the state. My wife and I finally moved into the house we bought late last year 1 month ago. So far we're very happy here. I would like to find a local. high paying cushy job here. BTW: I hate F'n IL, I feel sorry for the right-minded people that have yet to.make good their escape from that liberal utopia. |

Quoted: As far as lever guns goes, how about 38/55? 38-40? 32-20? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes My range is about 25 yards deep / 30 yards wide (it was built primarily as a USPSA practice bay), and I have a single lane extending back to 100 yards that probably 2 people at a time could shoot from. Of course we'd all have to move back to shoot that distance, so we can do some rifle work and then move forward and do pistol/pcc/carbine work from within the bay, or vice versa. Here's a video of the rifle lane to the backstop: Liberty Manor rifle range Quoted: What sort of things could you use? I can bring those 8' white tables and chairs; a popup canopy; metal targets and stands; food; condiments; paper plates/towels cutlery etc. I encourage everyone to bring their favorite camping chair to hang out in, but we could use a few more tables to put guns on. I suspect we'll have a few. If you have metal targets you want to bring that's cool too. I have a dueling tree, a texas star and a few USPSA poppers along with a really heavy hanging silhouette that can take rifle. You set the rules for what's allowed on your steel. If it's soft and someone shoots it with a rifle, that'll be between the two of you. |

Right now, it's looking like the July 20th Date is the front runner. It's impossible to get a date that works for everyone unless we put it a year out and folks who work weekends decide to take a PTO day, so we're gonna just have to choose the LOO (least objectionable option) and run with it. We're at 7 folks on 7/20. So let's call it. The date for this shindig is 7/20. I'll start a new thread for folks who ARE able to make it and we'll plan food and stuff.
