This happens regularly, just not usually on the interstates. It started during Covid and all of the protests and has escalated, however it hasn't received much media coverage until now. I've been caught in it several times and response was minimal or non-existent; LMPD is thin on resources and seem to avoid the confrontation due to the way the media portrays them. The last encounter was coming home from the airport, so no firearm on me, and we were very uncomfortable. We were stuck in traffic, with cars coming towards us on the wrong side of the road and no way to get out of it, 911 dispatch actually told us they were aware and hung up on us. Having diesel trucks approaching head-on doing burnouts is not a great situation to be in and no way out and trying to avoid confrontation was not fun. My fear is that there will be a heavy handed response when they do decide to do something about it and as a responsible owner of a loud custom Mustang I feel there will be a time where just having it out driving will result in issues.
