OK....
Two things - 1) I offer my sincere condolences to our .Mil, friends and families, who were murdered in the terrorist attack. I include the Good guys and innocents who were also murdered. My heart goes out to all our Military and families who made the ultimate sacrifice over these 20 years. No, you did not die in vain. You left a 20 year (One Generation) of people who know only the semblance of Democracy and freedom. Perhaps just perhaps the seed will grow. 2) I extend my condolences to the USA and all other allies for fighting a war where the enemy has no uniform and specifically would THROW away God's greatest gift LIFE because their belief dictates sacrificing yourself gets you a seat next to Allah, a bunch of virgins, and their families "prestige" and money. I have said this a million times if you haven't watched this movie/documentary Battle for Algiers

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058946/awards/?ref_=tt_awd You can't win a war where death trumps life, because... <see #2) How do you win against the indigenous people with centuries of experience using the war of attrition and a perfect asymmetrical environment to their end? Perhaps the latter part of #1) 20 year long generational seed of freedom that will hopefully grow.
I have always been the "glass is half empty" type guy, but in the case of the "Sandbox" I will hope and pray for a "Glass half full."
G'night.
