Given that they are only referring this for prosecution as a concealed weapon violation, and not for possession of the suppressor, the guy almost certainly had a stamp and lawfully owned all the guns involved.  Which means this is probably yet another ticky-tack Michigan firearm transport violation.

Slow clap, boys.  Sounds like MSP got yet another dangerous criminal off the streets .

Not sure why you would follow the laws on registering NFA items, but not follow MI concealed carry laws.

In any case, there's not enough information there to determine anything. We need to know how the firearms were stored in the vehicle. Were they cased? Were they inaccessible to the occupants? Etc.

Notice the suppressor box was still in the vehicle.  Dude was probably hiding it from the wife . . .

MSP updated:

"He also advised he did not have a concealed pistol license. Troopers located a total of four handguns, ammunition, and a suppressor inside of the vehicle.  The driver was lodged for carrying a concealed weapon pending prosecutor review. We will have more info on this detail later"

That was there when I read it. Not enough detail to determine legality.

If those were stored away from occupant access, MSP is entirely wrong.

Exactly, there was not sufficient details in the article. "Found in the vehicle" is not a legal standard for firearms.
