Quoted: Lee Zeldin is awesome. I've had a couple of great conversations with him. Solid conservative, great attitude about 2A, and would be the greatest governor NY has ever seen. View Quote Just my 2 cents on this: Lee was on The David Webb show yesterday, talking about the possibilities of a republican bounce-back in NY. He went on for a bit how there was once a Republican led Senate in the state and how the state can get that back and see real change, and how people will look to the Republicans to bring back sanity. I just want to call a little bit of BS on this. When the SAFE act came up in 2013, 9 Senate "republicans" voted for it. When the Marriage Equality Act in 2011 came up, 6 "republicans" voted for it. In both cases these bills passed because of the Republican support. The Republicans have done nothing but lose Seats in the Senate and Assembly since 2010 and it doesn't show signs of changing. the reality of the situation is that these "republicans" for the most part are not now, nor have they ever been conservatives. When you get a "moderate" republican in NY they are only Republicans in NY. In any other state not named California, Illinois or New Jersey they would be democrats. Its unfortunate but i think its reality. Hopefully this Lee Zeldin is different and really a guy who can help usher change, but firt he and all the other republican's need to admit that their "Grand Old Party" stance needs to go. They need to appear like a radically different choice to the democrat running against them. |

Quoted: The reality was the Republicans had not really controlled the Senate since even before 2010. The only reason they managed to have a majority was due to several Democrat Senators caucusing with the Republicans thus giving them a technical majority. The reality was the Senate would really have looked like it does now much earlier. The Democrats primaried those "traitorous" Senators in 2018 and they all lost. Plus a wave swept through Long Island that pushed out several Senators here too. My own Senator, Marcellino, was ousted. It was no net loss as he was one of the nine that voted for the SAFE Act. In the long run that vote did not protect him from being ousted. View Quote I think this analysis is pretty much dead on. It is even more disappointing when you think about it because it essentially guarantees that NYS has almost no realistic chance of having something resembling a Republican majority in either State House let alone the Executive branch. I would say that the Democrats are the reason I left, but I think what stung the most every day that I was there was the constant reminder of betrayal by almost every single so-called "conservative" in office. Hell the only two guys who were ever actually a straight shooters were Mickey Kearns and Mark Schroeder and both of those men were bloody Democrats! At least they did what they said they would do. I guess at the end of the day would you rather your wife tell you she was cheating on you or have her lie to you and you just believe her?? lol |

I think Cuomo is going to hang tight. He never actually laid a minute on any of these women he was harassing. The Dems won't impeach him, he's unlikely to be charged criminally and I read the dems are already saying "we taught him a lesson by taking away his emergency powers" Unless they uncover some significant criminal behavior he'll just keep saying "I'm sorry people misunderstood my innocent but inappropriate joking around" and see what happens in the primary.

View Quote Funny thing, this morning my sister was watching a repeat of the Cuomo diatribe on GMA. She said, "now he is sorry about what he did." I responded, not really. Listen carefully to what he said. He is said he is sorry various people felt what he did was inappropriate but he really did not come out and say he was truly sorry for his actions of themselves. She paused for a moment and then admitted that he was indeed nuanced about what he said. She also wondered why they were saying there needs to be an investigation instead of everyone just believing the #MeToo movement. Reminded her that it depends on the offenders political party. Democrat's get a pass and an investigation. Republican's get taken down without any hearing or evidence other that on word alone. |

"NEW YORK’S TOP DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS CALL ON GOV. CUOMO TO STEP DOWN
by Kevin Ryan Amid multiple new allegations of inappropriate behavior from former aides and a worsening nursing home scandal, New York’s top Democratic lawmakers are finally saying it’s time for Gov. Andrew Cuomo to step down. State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D) directly called on Cuomo to resign, pointing to “allegations about sexual harassment, a toxic work environment, [and] the loss of credibility surrounding the nursing home data”. “We need to govern without daily distraction. For the good of the state Governor Cuomo must resign,” Leader Stewart-Cousins said. Shortly after, the Speaker of New York’s Assembly all but did the same. “I think it is time for the governor to seriously consider whether he can effectively meet the needs of the people of New York,” Speaker Carl Heastie (D) said in a statement. State Sen. Liz Krueger, a prominent Manhattan Democrat, also called on Cuomo to resign, saying, "I stand with Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins in calling for the Governor to resign. Our state is rightly crying out for truthful, transparent government. The people's business is too pressing to continue to be derailed in this way.” Several other prominent New York lawmakers last week said Cuomo should step down, but until the state’s Democrat leadership had stopped short of joining them. The growing calls come after two more women say they were sexually harassed by Cuomo, bringing the total number of accusers to five. Karen Hinton, who worked as a press aide to Cuomo when he led the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under President Bill Clinton, said Cuomo once summoned her to his hotel room, grabbed her, and pulled her back when she tried to leave. Several people say Hinton told them about the incident shortly after it occurred. Hinton also says that, while at HUD, Cuomo made hiring decisions based on looks. “I sat in on one [job] interview and he told me later she wasn’t attractive enough for the job so he didn’t hire her,” she said. Speaking to reporters today, Cuomo said Hinton's claims are “not true,” and urged everyone to wait for the results of New York Attorney General Letitia James' investigation into his behavior. The governor also insinuated that he had dirt on other politicians, saying that when he served as attorney general he received “all sorts of allegations against politicians all the time,” but did not make them public. And he took a more defiant tone than previously, saying demands that he resign are “anti-democratic.” “There is no way I resign,” he said. |

The left needs Dear Leader gone so they can usher in their socialist utopia. For all his faults, Cuomo knows he won't stay in office if he raises taxes to the level the state would need to underwrite all their social programs.
