Snows seems to have finished off for my house in the upstate. 4.5" with a ruler in an untouched area of snow in a large planter. It is sticking everywhere. Kids are having a blast out there, other than my oldest son who's having to shovel.  Temp has steadily dropped all day and we are down to 19.3°F now. |

Sunday morning in Scouthood. Church canceled. I live the farthest out from the church of all of the officers, and my road is not passable. Canceled for the second week in a row unfortunately. 5 inches of snow. 14 degree air temp. 39 degrees in the pool. 101 in the hot tub. Starlink has icicles on it, but the internal heater has it working fine. Ready to watch more movies all day. The coffee is hot and black. The alpaca socks are warm and fluffy. Biscuits are in the oven. Four Oaks Farm country ham ready to go in the skillet. I fear that this cold will be the end of my bee hive, but such is the life of a bee keeper. I don't have any appraisal field work until Tuesday, so maybe this will clear up by then. I'm not leaving my house today or tomorrow unless it is to ride around the property on the golf cart. And that is not likely. |

We didn’t have enough snow to cover the grass in Summerville. Roads were covered with snow and ice when I started walking the dog at 9. He loves the snow. By the time we circled back around at 9:30, streets that had sun on them were already melted off and drying. |

| Ended up with 4-5" of nice fluffy stuff. Sunday we cut donuts in the Polaris and pulled kids behind it. Went to work at 9am and roads were pretty good other than some nasty spots that don't get sun. Plenty of snow still on the ground at the house. 2-3' long icicles at my office still. Kids at home doing e-learning, playing in the snow and then Fortnite when they need to thaw out. |

Dealing with a busted pipe. It is inside the house in a part that I do not heat. There is 2 pvc 1/2" pipes that run along the baseboard in a bathroom that we don't use. There is no heat in that bedroom and it is just a half bath that we don't use. The only electricity in the two rooms is the light over the sink and a ceiling light in the bathroom. No other power in the two rooms. So we just use the room for storage. WTF builds a bedroom and doesn't put outlets and lights in it. Main reason they didn't is it was added on to the house many years before we moved in, the roof and ceiling are too close to crawl between and they didn't think ahead. The two pvc pipes that run around the baseboard of the bathroom are boxed in to blend with the baseboard. I always thought water was fed from under the floor and never paid attention to the baseboard. We have lived here 20 years and never had it freeze in there before. I guess too many days in a row way below freezing. I never lost water to anywhere else in the house. I only noticed it when I saw the shower in our other bathroom not dripping. Low pressure. We are on a well. So I went searching for water water and I found it. Just shut the water supply valve from the well off for the night. I have a tub full of water that I saved for just in case this weekend. That's another sore subject for me. The other bathroom the main bath I guess the used whatever tub shower unit they could get cheap. It is the wrong hand. The plumbing on the tub is on an outside wall. WHO puts plumbing on an outside wall and no extra insulation with siding. First winter it froze with us luckily no busted pipe. Ever since then I leave the faucet dripping a run a space heater in the bathroom when it is going to dip below freezing. |
