"A State University of New York at Oswego administrator has reprimanded a conservative student for delivering an “uncomfortable” speech during an “Open Mic” event last month.

According to an email obtained by Campus Reform, the school’s Alcohol and Other Drug Program Coordinator, Trisha DeWolf, contacted student Nicole Miller on May 2, stressing that some Open Mic attendees were disturbed by her presentation criticizing liberal intolerance on campus."

Oswego issues apology.

I’d like to think the email campaign I went on helped.

DeFrancisco is the man.

So no freedom of speech at  a state-run school then, eh?  Can't criticize liberals?

And a bit ironic... talking about liberals being intolerant and getting criticized for it.  Illustrates exactly what the issue is.

Why did I grow up conservative?  Life would have been much easier as a state employee in the world of unicorns and rainbows.

Ambulance chasing is so 80's...

Public speaker chasing is the new hip thing to do.

You’d think the professor would realize she’s a .gov employee and 1A protections supersede feelings- even in NY.

Nice.

I just hope the student gets to get on the mic again.  Maybe this time bring up the fact that the school had to apologize for the teacher's behavior.

Being held accountable for all actions good or bad is imperative to good government, which is inclusive of our Public Schools.

Allowed to "get away with it" is justification for continuance of behavior....We had a Commander that insisted "when you see a Soldier do something wrong and you don't do something about it, you've just lowered the standard." and believe me, NY has just about bottomed out.
